Tutors' Alliance stipulates that all members must have annual Enhanced Disclosure checks and Enhanced Disclosures are included with both Basic and Professional membership.
Tutors' Alliance is a Registered Body with Disclosure Scotland and uses an umbrella organisation to process Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosures.
Tutors' Alliance was disappointed that the ISA scheme will not be implemented as intended in England and Wales but we continue to lobby the government for improved regulation of the tuition industry. Although we are not as naive to think that Enhanced Disclosures guarantee that a person poses no risk when working with children, we believe that annual Enhanced Disclosures are currently the most suitable and effective method of protecting pupils.
In Scotland, the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme will be introduced from 30 November 2010. More details will be posted on this page in due course. | |
