Private tuition is a very rewarding job. Seeing your pupils develop over time is incredibly satisfying. However, this will only happen where a tutor and pupil develop a relationship of trust with one another. Without this, it will be very difficult to help a pupil grow. Also, private tutors know that private tuition is not school. Sessions should be relaxed but at the same time, a tutor must be able to encourage and "stretch" a pupil where necessary. Of course, it does take time for a tutor to find this balance with every pupil, but having these essential aspects in mind from the beginning will make the tutoring session as beneficial as possible for the pupil and tutor alike.
