Tutors’ Alliance welcomes applications from tutors. All tutors will be subject to a rigorous vetting process. Tuition is a very rewarding job and Tutors' Alliance provides excellent opportunities for enthusiastic, passionate and committed tutors.
 
Tutors must have a degree in a relevant subject or be in the final stages of university education (3rd year or above). Qualified teachers must have a PGCE/PGDE and GTCS registration is preferred.

Tutors must have the following competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Available for at least six hours per week during evenings and weekends
  • Very good knowledge of the Scottish education system
  • Experience of working with young people
  • A passion for sharing knowledge
  • Fluent English language skills.
Our key tuition areas are:
  • Primary (P3 - P7)
  • Secondary (S1 - S6)
  • Language (children and adults)
  • EFL (children and adults)
  • Undergraduate (all university subjects)
  • Professional Examinations (particularly accountancy).
Tutors working with under 18's are subject to a Disclosure Scotland check. Tutors will be required to carry out tuition in pupils' homes and/or at Tutors' Alliance's offices in the centre of Aberdeen. We provide tuition across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, including Banchory, Stonehaven and Inverurie. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are helpful but not essential.

All tutors receive full training and on-going support. Our tutors work as part of a supportive community and in return, we expect the highest quality of tuition to be provided to our clients. 
 
We recruit for all academic subjects on a periodic basis. At present, we have assignments commencing immediately but we are also looking to recruit tutors for a start in August/September 2011.
