Dozens of pupils have already benefited from one-to-one tuition with Tutors' Alliance. One-to-one learning offers pupils the opportunity to receive tutoring tailored to their individual needs. We provide one-to-one tuition either in a pupil's home of at our office in the City Centre. We are entirely flexible about lesson times, with appointments available during the day, evening or at weekends.
 Consultation
The first stage is to contact us to discuss your requirements. Valerie Kemp, Managing Director, will then arrange for a no-obligation no-charge consultation to take place in your home. The consultation gives Tutors' Alliance the opportunity to thoroughly understand the pupil's needs and engage a suitable tutor for the assignment. It also allows pupils and parents to ask questions about Tutors' Alliance and the services we provide.
Lessons
Lessons will be scheduled at a time which is mutually convenient to the pupil and tutor. The lessons vary in length between one and six hours per week. Generally, at Primary level, sessions are one hour per week and at Secondary level, one and a half hours per week. The frequency of lessons may increase near examination periods.
We generally expect pupils to do some homework each week to reinforce what has been learned during the tuition session. That said, one of the advantages of one-to-one tuition is that we can be fully flexible and adapt a homework schedule to fit around school,
exams or extra-curricular activities. Homework is discussed at the initial consultation.
Monitoring progress is very important and in order to keep parents fully informed of this, Tutors' Alliance sends monthly progress reports. This allows us to monitor pupils' progress rigorously.
Fees
We strive to offer value for money. We do not charge an arrangement fee. We offer a number of payment options including a one-off fee or monthly payments to suit each family's needs. There may be an additional charge where tuition is provided in homes outside Aberdeen City.
