What do our tutors say about us? We are very proud of the commitment and support we receive from Tutors' Alliance members. To demonstrate what members think, we asked two of them to give their honest opinion about Tutors' Alliance.
From one of our most experienced tutors:
"I would thoroughly recommend Tutors' Alliance to anyone thinking of becoming a tutor.
Valerie provides a one-stop-shop for educational updates, legal advice, and tutor-specific workshops. In providing professional and practical advice to tutors, Tutors' Alliance is both raising the standards of education in the UK and creating a totally unique experience for tutors.
Through referred assignments and networking opportunities, Tutors' Alliance has been instrumental in helping me achieve my business goals and plan for future projects. When I started tutoring I felt I was alone, now I'm very much part of a community with a vibrant vision of education. If you haven't already signed up, do it now!"
From a tutor new to tutoring:
"I wanted to start tutoring because I am thinking of becoming a teacher, and thought it would be a good way to keep up to date with the school curriculum and get an idea of what it might be like to teach.
I tried to start up by myself but found it very difficult. I was amazed at how easy it was to start tutoring with the help of Tutors' Alliance. The Tutor Check was a great way to let pupils and parents know a bit about me, and helped put them at ease about having me as their tutor.
Whenever I had a question about anything from how to prepare for a lesson to the financial records I should be keeping, Tutors' Alliance was there to answer it. Last term, with the advice of Tutors' Alliance, I ran Easter revision classes for standard grade pupils – it was a lot of fun and gave me a taste of what it might be like to be a teacher. I currently have six pupils ranging from Second Year to Higher level, and absolutely love tutoring.
Tutors' Alliance has offered invaluable support and advice from the beginning, and has made it easy and fun to become a successful tutor."
From Jack Duffy:
‘To me, membership of the Alliance brings a renewed sense of professionalism and legitimacy. It endorses my trustworthiness in dealing with children of all ages, while providing potential clients with validated evidence of my credentials and teaching experience, each being of prime importance to parents and commercial employers alike.
Were that not enough, through periodic ‘teach-in workshops’ it also enables me to exchange thoughts and ideas with other tutors, such relaxed and friendly ‘get-togethers’ having much to commend them.
‘Leads’ to potential pupils are also provided, this particular benefit of membership much reducing the cost (and risks) of advertising elsewhere. From their first contact with the Alliance would-be clients know they are dealing with a professional body they can trust and do business with.
Having waited for years for someone to take the lead in helping parents guide their offspring towards a brighter future, I applaud Miss Kemp for her industry and foresight.’
