The Tutor Check is a report which has been developed by Tutors’ Alliance Ltd. to meet the needs of pupils, tutors and recruiting agencies.
The Tutor Check provides pupils and parents with key information required when employing a tutor. This includes information about the tutor's:
  • eligibility to work in the UK
  • Disclosure Scotland/CRB Enhanced Disclosure certificate
  • qualifications
  • experience
  • references
  • credentials using details of Tutors' Alliance's interview with the tutor.

 
The report also includes a photograph of the tutor and the tutor's membership number so that parents and pupils can check the identity of their tutor with Tutors' Alliance.

 
The Tutor Check is easy to read and comprehensive in nature.

Tutors’ Alliance Ltd. has created a sample Tutor Check to show parents and pupils what to expect from the Tutor Check. Please also take a look at the accompanying Booklet for Pupils and Parents.

A Tutor Check is the gold standard to look for when employing a tutor but it should not be used as a replacement for traditional checks and common sense. Please see our information section for further advice on engaging a tutor.
