Do you want to be a tutor?

Tutors' Alliance does not employ tutors but we help people set up as self-employed tutors through our three primary services, Basic MembershipProfessional Membership and Workshops.

We are also happy to answer any queries you may have about tutoring and where to start. Valerie, our founding director, has been in your shoes and so is more than willing to share her experiences. We advise that all tutors should have:

  • outstanding knowledge of the subject they wish to tutor
  • excellent communication skills
  • availability during evenings and weekends
  • very good knowledge of the relevant education system
  • experience of working with young people
  • a passion for sharing knowledge
  • fluent English language skills for effective communication with pupils.
